Acceptance of terms
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of this site and your booking and stay with The East Front Loft (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By booking or using the site, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the site or book a stay.
Eligibility and identity verification
You must be at least 21 years old to book and to be the responsible guest on a reservation, and you must provide accurate, complete information. To confirm this, we use identity and age verification through Stripe Identity. A booking that cannot be verified — or where the responsible guest does not meet the minimum age — may be declined or cancelled, and any payment held for it refunded. The responsible guest must be present for the stay and is accountable for everyone in their party.
Bookings and reservations
A reservation is confirmed only once your payment has been received and your identity and age have been verified; until both are complete, your dates are not guaranteed. We will send a confirmation when your booking is finalized. You are responsible for providing accurate booking details, including dates and guest count, and for meeting the property’s minimum-stay, maximum-occupancy, and eligibility requirements. We may decline or cancel a booking that violates these Terms, appears fraudulent, or cannot be verified.
Payments, fees, and taxes
Payments are processed securely by our payment provider, Stripe. The total shown at checkout is charged in full at the time of booking and includes the nightly rate, any applicable fees (such as cleaning or pet fees), and taxes, itemized for you before you pay. We do not collect a separate security deposit. By booking, you authorize us to charge the payment method you provide for the amounts presented for your reservation, in the currency shown. Prices and availability are not guaranteed until your booking is confirmed.
Cancellations and refunds
To cancel, contact us at hello@eastfrontloft.com. Refund eligibility depends on when you cancel, measured against the property’s local check-in time. The exact refundable amount is also shown to you at booking and in your confirmation.
Standard reservations (fewer than 28 nights):
- Cancel 14 or more days before check-in — full refund.
- Cancel 7 to 14 days before check-in — a partial refund of 50% of the nightly rate plus the cleaning fee; the service fee is non-refundable.
- Cancel fewer than 7 days before check-in — no refund.
Long-term reservations (28 nights or more): you may cancel for a full refund within 48 hours of booking, regardless of how soon check-in is. After that window, the first 30 nights are non-refundable.
Approved refunds are returned to your original payment method within a reasonable time. Where required by law, certain taxes are refunded even when the booking is not. If we cancel your confirmed reservation for reasons within our control, you will receive a full refund.
Check-in, access, and codes
We will provide check-in instructions, a door access code (PIN), WiFi details, and an unlock QR code for your stay dates, delivered by email and on your stay page. These access credentials are issued to you alone, for your reservation only — do not share, copy, or post them. They are active only within your check-in and check-out window, and we may rotate or revoke them as needed to operate and secure the property.
House rules and guest responsibilities
- Use the property responsibly and follow all posted house rules.
- Do not exceed the maximum occupancy.
- No parties or events of any kind.
- No smoking or vaping anywhere on the property.
- Observe quiet hours and respect neighbors and the community.
- Daytime visitors are welcome, but only registered guests may stay overnight; do not sublet, assign, or re-list your reservation.
- No unlawful activity on or from the property.
- You are responsible for the property and everyone in your party during your stay.
Pets
Pets are considered on a case-by-case basis and require our approval in advance; approved pets may incur a pet fee shown at booking. Service and assistance animals are always welcome, are not considered pets, and are not subject to pet fees or advance approval. Bringing an undisclosed or unapproved animal is a violation of these Terms.
Damage and care of the property
You are liable for any damage beyond normal wear and tear, missing items, excessive cleaning, or other costs resulting from your stay or from a violation of these Terms or the house rules (for example, unauthorized pets, smoking, parties, or exceeding occupancy). Because we do not collect a security deposit, you authorize us to charge the payment method on file for such amounts after your stay, and we will provide an itemized explanation of any charge.
SMS / text messaging
With your consent, The East Front Loft sends you transactional text messages about your reservation and stay — booking and payment confirmations, identity-verification prompts, and check-in instructions (door code, WiFi, and directions). These messages relate only to your booking; we never send marketing or promotional texts, and they are delivered through our messaging provider, Twilio.
- You receive these messages only after you provide your mobile number and opt in.
- Message frequency varies based on your booking and stay activity.

- To opt out, reply STOP at any time; you will receive one confirmation message and then no further texts.
- Carriers are not liable for any delayed or undelivered messages.

Its responses may be inaccurate or incomplete and are provided for convenience only, not as professional advice — please confirm anything important with us directly. Disclaimers
The site and the property are provided “as is” to the extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted or error-free.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the site, your booking, or your stay, and our total liability will not exceed the amount you paid for the reservation giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising out of your booking, your stay, or your violation of these Terms.
Governing law and venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. You agree that any dispute arising from these Terms, your booking, or your stay will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in DuPage County, Illinois, and you consent to their jurisdiction.
Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will revise the “last updated” date above when we do; continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
